About Husvel

Husvel takes its name from hús, the old Norse word for house.

The idea is simple. A wind-down routine works because of repetition, not effort. The same signal, in the same room, at the same hour, until your body starts recognising it before you consciously do.

Almost everything sold for sleep asks you to do something at midnight — breathe a certain way, follow an app, take something. Effort at midnight is the problem, not the solution.

So we built one object that does one job. It plays a steady tone at a frequency you choose, anywhere from 0.01 to 100,000 Hz, through its own speaker. It has no screen, no wifi, no app, no account and no microphone. It cannot notify you. It cannot update itself. It sits on a table and plays a tone.

That's the whole product, and we think that's the point.
